posting pictures

would i be right to assume that to post pictures you just add them as attachments and if i am howcome i can only attach 3 at a time

I'd never looked at that... I've just amended it to 10. If you need more, you can just post again

They don't have to be (the "upload attachment" option at the bottom of the posting section gives it away!), but I think they look cleaner - hence why I shove mine on imageshack.
